Samsung India is pushing the much awaited Android 4.0 ICS update for Galaxy Note phablet GT-N7000 in India. Android ICS update for European and US users has already rolled out earlier this month. The update is pushed over-the-air as well as through the Samsung Keys application.
While the Galaxy S II users are still waiting for the update Samsung has rolled out for Galaxy Note, this is the first device to get Android 4.0 update in the country. The update brings ICS goodness along with improved Samsung TouchWiz UI. The update is of build version IML74K and Android 4.0.3.
If you are seeing only 36MB of update via your phone, you need to connect to the desktop with Kies installed to get the full update. It weighs around 318MB in size. It contains a new S-Note application for note taking coupled with other productivity tools. The new suite of widgets and applications collectively names as Premium suite have been optimized for S-Pen stylus of Galaxy Note.
While this is good for Galaxy Note users, Galaxy S II users are still waiting for the update, hopefully Samsung will roll out the Android 4.0 update for these users in the coming weeks.
