Samsung is rolling out an update for Samsung Galaxy S4 firmware to address few issues like storage constraints users complained earlier. The software update is currently rolling out to users in Germany and for Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 devices powered by Snapdragon 600 chips, for those using Exynos powered devices might have to wait for more. The update addresses the more serious issues including storage, smearing issue some users had.
With the new update now it is possible to move apps from the phone to memory to SD card. Users complained when Galxy S4 launched due to insufficient storage, although the phone had 16GB of storage only 9.15GB is user accessible and moving apps to SD card is not an option. With this update Samsung addressed this issue. The update itself is hefty at 365.67MB, it can loaded using Samsung Kies application or through over-the-air (OTA) update. After installing the update available user memory bumps a bit to 9.23GB.
Some users has experienced purple smearing when scrolling, this update addresses this issue. Other fixes and improvements include New Camera firmware, Smart Pause Toggle, HDR Video (now you can record video in HDR), Semi-transparent status bar and New icons in settings.
