Samsung’s ChatON messaging app on Android got an update today. This update is important as it adds SMS/ MMS support along with other improvements as well. If you are not familiar ChatON is a cross-platform messaging app from Samsung.
The new update includes a new user interface for its Android version to make it easier and simpler to use the app. With this update you can change the background of My page and upload multimedia content including images, video. The SMS/ MMS support included is only available in Germany and Brazil at the moment. It is not clear why these two countries only got this feature, but we can hope that it will be launched widely in the next update for the app.
ChatON is not the first app that includes this support, Google Hangouts released earlier added this feature. It allows users to access SMS and MMS received on their phone from the ChatON app itself instead of going to messages app.
