Microsoft is announcing the launch of Skype video calling to Outlook.com, with the service launched you will be able to call your contacts with Skype without leaving the Outlook.com Inbox. At the time of Outlook.com launch Microsoft said Skype Video calling feature will be added to the service but till now it is not added, in the mean time it got new features and overhauled Outlook.com Calendar.
Now the time has come and Skype Video calling preview for Outlook.co is beginning to rollout in UK and in the coming weeks it will launch in US and Germany. Over the next few months it will be available to all users of Outlook.com, but for now you have to wait, if you are in UK you can look for it in your inbox.
To get the Skype for your Inbox you need to download a plugin for your browser, the plugin supports IE, Chrome and Firefox latest versions. After installing the plugin you need to connect Outlook.com to Skype using your Microsoft account, it will merge both Microsoft and Skype accounts and your Skype contacts will be added to the Outlook.com contacts.
To call a contact look for audio, video buttons in IM conversation, if you are reading mail mouse hover contacts picture and select Skype audio or video buttons to start the conversation.
