Leaks and rumors are pointing that Samsung will launch its next flagship Galaxy S5 sooner than later. The latest leak is that a Samsung device with codename SM-G900S showed up on GFXBench results page with high-end specifications like 2K display, it could be a Samsung Galaxy S5 or may be it is a upgraded Galaxy Round curved smartphone.
The SM-G900S listing on the benchmark site reveals that it comes with a display at 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. A 2k resolution on a smartphone may be an overkill, but if the phone has 5-inch as rumored that puts it at 587ppi pixel density. The phone is also using the MSM8974 Processor at 2.5GHz, that is Qualcomm’s Quad Core Snapdragon 800 SoC. Samsung could also its own 64-bit Exynos chip in non-LTE devices.
It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, that is given as it was released and Samsung has time to pre-load it, obviously it wants to use the latest Android for its flagship. Samsung will probably use metal chassis made by Catcher in Galaxy S5 if the rumors are true. And if that happens then Galaxy S5 is a true upgrade than the Galaxy S4.
Samsung is expected to announce the phone sooner than later, rumor has it that it will launch in February or March of 2014, which is earlier compared to Samsung’s usual timing of April or May for launching Galaxy S series smartphones. The early launch is said to be due to not-so-stellar performance of the Galaxy S4 in terms of sales.
