Twitter is rolling out Expanded Tweets feature that allows users to preview news articles, embedded images, videos and audio from several media partners. Twitter is partnering with content providers to bring more content to twitter feeds.
You are familiar with the Expanded Tweets that allows to see Instagram photos and YouTube videos inside tweets with our leaving twitter, Twitter announced today that the enhanced version of this feature is bringing more partners whose content you can preview. Along with the these you can now preview content from publications like The Wall Street Journal, Breaking News and Time.
It’s easier than ever to discover breaking news and bylines. When you expand a Tweet linking to a news article by The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle or Der Spiegel Online, you can see a preview with the headline, the introduction and sometimes the Twitter accounts of the publisher and writer. You can continue to read the article, follow these accounts, and reply, favorite or retweet the Tweet.
Twitter also promises to bring photos from WWE ring, or images from BuzzFeed and TMZ. Video content from Lifetime and Dailymotion can be expanded in twitter with this feature.
This feature is currently rolling out to everyone on twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com starting today. Those who use mobile twitter apps for iPhone and Android have to wait a bit more, as Twitter it will come soon to these devices.
