Twitter is about to launch a Music streaming app this weekend according to multiple reports. Twitter has just confirmed that they acquired music discovery site We Are Hunted. We Are Hunted was shutdown and the team joined Twitter, according to a note posted on the site the team is working on a product at Twitter but not yet revealed what that might be. “While we are shutting down wearehunted.com, we will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team. There’s no question that Twitter and music go well together. Artists turn to Twitter first to connect with fans, and people share and discover new songs and albums every day. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on at Twitter.”
According to multiple reports the twitter music app will include the We Are Hunted music discovery technology. Music will be streamed over SoundCloud if it is hosted there or users will be sent to iTunes preview.
There is at least one tweet confirming a music app exists in the twitter land, a tweet from Ryan Seacrest. Twitter has not yet officially confirmed the Twitter Music App existence, though we don’t have to wait much longer as AllThings D is reporting that twitter will launch the Music app this weekend, that means it is a matter of few hours before we could get our hands on the app.
