Voxer is a push-to-talk app and is available for Android and iOS and it debuted now for the Windows Phone at BUILD conference. Voxer is in private beta for quite some time on Windows Phone and now available for all Windows Phone 8 users.
There a re umpteen number of push-to-talk applications and the space is crowded with several popular applications that are competing for the user attention. The list of push-to-talk apps includes the popular Viber, messaging app WhatsApp and WeChat among others. Voxer is competing with these apps, like Viber or WhatsApp it works through your mobile number, you register via your number and then it will populate the list of contacts who have Voxer installed on their phones.
Using Voxer you can send text messages, photos, share your location and quickly send and receive voice-based messages, these are live in real-time and can also be played later. Voxer is useful in the sense you can quickly transmit voice messages to your contact or group of contacts.
Voxer is more than just a Walkie-Talkie. With Voxer every push-to-talk message is live (people can listen as you talk) and recorded (as a message in your timeline). You can also send text, photos, and share your location.
Voxer allows you to easily and instantly communicate with one friend or a group of friends. Friends can listen to your message while you talk, or check audio messages later. Forget about separate phone calls, voicemails, text messages and emails.
