Windows 8.1 aka the Windows Blue leaked to online, the leaked version is build 9369 x64 version, previously build 9364 leaked online and we posted screenshots of the build. The latest leak shows some new features including a file explorer in the Metro interface, new animations, greater SkyDrive integration and others.
The video and screenshots posted online reveal a file explorer app in the Metro apps list, that allows you to explore system files as well as SkyDrive files. There is a new button on the Metro start screen for accessing the app list, clicking on that takes you to the apps list. The little orb will disappear if you use a touch screen PC. The apps can be sorted by name, date installed and most used. The apps page also includes a search bar at the top corner.
There are new settings in the PC settings menu in the Metro interface. There are lot of Sync settings to sync to the web, almost all the settings can be synced. The settings also show greater SkyDrive integration, we have already seen this in the previously leaked build.
In the previous build we have seen improvements to the SnapView feature it allows multiple apps to be positioned side by side. The new UI element in the latest build allows you to choose where the app goes in the SnapView.
In the desktop we are expecting a start button and boot to desktop option, but both of these features are missing at the moment. But this build is not final and is on active development so expect these features to be added at some point. The first public preview of the Windows 8.1 is expected at the Microsoft’s build conference.
If you want to test drive the new Windows 8.1 leak search online you will find links to the ISO file.
