Windows 8.1 may Bring Start Button Back, but not Start Menu

Recently a report came suggesting that Microsoft might add the Start Button to Windows 8.1/ Blue build along with the option to boot to desktop instead of the start screen. But we haven’t seen a hint of it in the leaked Windows 8.1 build. However The Verge is reporting today that Microsoft is adding a start button to the Windows 8.1 but it is not the real thing.

The start button that will come with the Windows 8.1 will take user simply to the start screen of Metro interface and it won’t function like good old button which brings start menu when clicked. The start button will simply replace the hot corner functionality. The button will look like the Windows 8 button used in the Charms bar according to the report.

Windows 8 Start button removal is one of the controversial changes in the Windows 8 and many users are not really happy with the change. There are several alternatives though for bringing back the start button to Windows 8.
