Outlook 2013 RT will come to Windows RT tablets as part of the Windows 8.1 update according to Microsoft. Tami Reller, Microsoft’s Windows division CMO announced at Computex today. Microsoft is listening to customer feedback, one of the feature that is requested for Windows RT tablets is the outlook mail client which will allow users to use official email. With out Outlook Windows RT users are confined to the Windows 8 mail client that doesn’t offer much functionality.
Windows RT tablets come with Office 2013 that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote application but not Outlook app. With the upcoming Windows 8.1 update it will make its debut on Windows RT tablets, we don’t have to wait for long as the public preview is slated for June 26th. Microsoft will announce at the BUILD conference that starts on June 26th.
According to Surface blog there is an update that is slated for next week which will bring updates to the Touch and Type Covers, these include useful shortcuts to functions. Example shortcuts include Fn+ <left> for Home, Fn+ <right> for End, Fn+ <up> for Page up, Fn+ <down> for Page down.
