Microsoft has announced the official launch date for Windows 8, it will launch on October 26th. Microsoft last week sais that Windows 8 will launch in late October but didn’t give the exact date. At that time Microsoft also said that Windows 8 RTM is on track for August launch.
Brandon LeBlanc of Microsoft posted the official launch date on Windows team blog. He also noted that the new PCs with Windows 8 pre-installed will be available from that date. Users who have earlier license of Windows 7, Vista or XP will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 for $39.99.
Microsoft’s Surface tablets announced recently will also be released along with the Windows 8 launch, though Windows RT running tablets with Intel chips will be available after three months from the Windows 8 launch.
If you are waiting for Windows 8 launch eagerly you can mark the date October 26th as the official Windows 8 launch.
