Xolo has launched another smartphone in its Android lineup of devices, dubbed as Xolo A500S. It is a dual SIM Android smartphone running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It features a 4-inch TFT display at WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels), with 233ppi pixel density.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core MT6572w processor coupled with Mali-400 MP GPU. The processor seems to a variant of the recently launched MediaTek MT6572 SoC, which is a power efficient dual core chipset with maximum clock speed at 1.2GHz and includes essential radios. The chipset is launched to power budget handsets. MediaTek said at the launch time that devices running this chipset are already lined up and will hit the markets this June.
It comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, the actual user available memory may be less. It also supports micro SD slot for memory expansion upto 32GB. It carries a 5-megapixel camera at the rear and VGA front camera at the front. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB, GPS, 3G etc.
It packs a 1400mAh battery under the hood to power up the device. According to the company it gives 8 hours of talk time on 3G and around 470 hours of standby time.
Xolo A500S comes pre-loaded with Xolo Secure an anti-theft app for the smartphone. Using this service users will be able to track their phone location remotely. Google announced Android Device Manager app for tracking lost or stolen Android phones. Xolo Secure will also allow users to take backup of their call logs, SMS etc.
Price: It is priced at Rs. 6,999 and will be available in the coming days.
