Yahoo India Search is now displaying a mashup of search results combining, text, image and video results in one search results page (Screenshots at the end of the post). Yahoo News Release says that they have chosen India for the beta test for search results. These new mashup search results pages are dubbed as “Glue Pages”.
“The Glue Pages Beta currently works for select search terms across select categories such as health, sports, entertainment, travel, technology, and finance.”
Although mail is still the dominant application for Yahoo users in India, search is also becoming very important, said Gopal Krishna, head of audience at Yahoo India.
When Yahoo studied user behavior it found that for navigational searches, the current user experience is good enough, Bhat said. But the user experience still leaves a lot of scope for improvement and innovation, and Glue Pages is a step in that direction by pulling together the best information on the Web all in one page, he added.
Currently the results contain content and links from various sites like Wikipedia, Yahoo News, Yahoo Answers, Youtube Videos and Flickr Images. Search results are pushed to the idebar on these pages and fresh content from various sources is displayed on the main page.
Although Glue pages look like a little cluttered they are useful for a more comprehensive information on any keyword. What do you think of these pages?

Like the look of this. Yahoo! got some nice tricks up their sleeves it seems. The Indian market must enjoy trialling this, am looking forward to seeing it available in the rest of the world.
