Zoho Mail launched today for public with offline access, it was in private beta for quite some time from now. The Zoho Mail is the latest in the suite of online office programs Zoho offers. Well really who wants another email program anyway, but this makes a good fit for Zoho business applications. Not only that Zoho has some features of Yahoo mail and Gmail that may interest some.
Zoho is always ahead of Google when it comes to online office suite and its Writer supported offline feature before Google docs using Google’s technology Google Gears. Now Zoho mail also got the offline support using Google Gears before Gmail. If you have Gears installed on your computer you can setup offline access for Zoho mail, click on the “setup offline” link from the top menu. You can select how many mails you want to access offline, the default is 50 recent mails and 25 sent mails. You can also select to download images and attachments for offline access.
Zoho mail supports iPhone at the moment, according to Zoho support for other mobile devices is coming soon. Other interesting feature of Zoho mail is it supports folders like Yahoo Mail and others and Labels like Gmail. This is clever move, lot of users wanted both folders and labels feature in email. Threaded conversations are also supported. Supports POP3 now, IMAP support will come soon.
Overall Zoho mail has some really useful features and some users may like it over other email accounts. Zoho mail is a free service, you can login with your zoho account, if you don’t have one you can login with your Google or Yahoo account
